Termminimally invasive dentistry
DefinitionThe practice of performing the least amount of dentistry required to restore teeth to their normal condition. Minimally invasive procedures can are also more likely to be reversible than conventional techniques. Techniques could include:
1. Fluoride treatments and sealants to minimize the need for fillings
2. A bite splint to prevent further damage to the teeth
3. Veneers or inlays rather than crowns
4. A single implant and crown rather than a 3-unit bridge
